Red Gum Raised Garden Beds - By Grow "n" Eat
For many people Red Gum raised garden beds are the pinnacle of raised garden bed luxury, the Red Gum its self is a natural timber that is very dense and rot resistant. Red Gum is a time tested proven material to make safe and durable garden beds safe for you, and the family.
The biggest challenge with raised garden beds is that it’s hard to find someone who makes them locally and for that matter someone who makes them well, out of good quality Red Gum sleepers.
Benefits of Raised garden beds:
Raised garden beds offer better soil, superior drainage, high yields, easy access, and better pest control. The raised garden bed can be setup just about anywhere, and will always have the soil you choose. Raised gardens have a higher yield per square metre than conventional gardens. This is mostly because of the reduced soil complications, such as compaction and drainage, and also reduced pest problems. These high yields make it a great backyard gardening solution.
With our free delivery and construction getting a raised garden bed is easy. When it comes to deciding what to grow, we can help you out with the useful growing calendar and companion planting guide. Our raised garden beds come with or without soil. The soil we provide is balanced and contains everything needed for strong growth and minimal maintenance.
It is easy to choose a timber that meets your requirements with our selection of strong rot resistant timbers, either un-treated Red Gum or the new ACQ treated pine “nature wood” (which does not contain the harmful chromium or arsenate of conventional treated pine). These timbers will last for 30+ years and are a hearty 50mm thick. Our Red Gum beds come surfaced for a great looking and splinter free finish.

Wicking beds
We now stock wicking bed boxes, these are a great alternative to high drainage sand. Garden beds require less fill and can hold more water, lasting longer between the hot weeks in the peak of summer.
